Oyo state Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Michael Lana has stepped down for Governor Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.
He is the first to make such public declaration among all governorship candidates for Saturday’s Governorship and Assembly elections.
Lana while speaking during a briefing in Ibadan today alleged that some of those at the helm of affairs within the party sold out for a pittance and declared for the opposition without the consent of other stakeholders in the party.
He said as a result of the action, other stakeholders decided to take a decision to align with Governor Seyi Makinde in the best interest of the neglected, aggrieved party members, the candidates and Oyo residents.
